Unigames athletics start at Panaad today

TRACK and field enthusiasts will have a chance to see the University Games’ best runners and throwers as the athletics competition starts today, and will run until Wednesday at the Panaad Sports and Recreational Park in Bacolod City.

Badminton fans have today up to Wednesday at Po Hang gym while chess, which like badminton started yesterday, is at 888 China Town Square.

Basketball addicts have STI-West Negros University and Silay City gyms to visit.

University of St. La Salle Stingers will meet Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion (CPC) of Roxas City at 11 a.m. today following Holy Angel University of Pampanga and Ateneo de Davao’s match at 9:30 a.m.

CPC women's squad faces University of Mindanao earlier at 8 a.m. while at 2:30 p.m. Carlos Hilado Memorial State College of Talisay will battle University of Mindanao-Davao also in the distaff side.

Rizal Technological University of Mandaluyong and CPC square off at 4 p.m and Holy Cross of Davao College men's squad tackles Negros Oriental State University at 5:30 p.m.

Over in Silay City, CHMSC and Enderun Colleges of Manila (women's) clash at 8 a.m. and RTU follows against De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.

At 11 a.m. STI-WNU Mustangs test CHMSC while University of San Jose- Recoletos of Cebu and Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias collide at 1 p.m.

Hercor College of Roxas City and University of the Immaculate Concepcion of Davao tangle at 2:30 p.m. while at 4 p.m. Visayan Maritime Academy Global College tries Father Saturnino Urios University of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Jose Maria College of Davao City and DLS-College of St. Benilde will be the main game at 5:30 p.m.

Karatedo will be held today and tomorrow at VMA Global College gym at Sum-ag while lawn tennis will end on Wednesday at Montevista tennis court.

Football, which started yesterday and will end Friday, can be witnessed at Ayala North Point, Panaad, and CHMSC-Talisay grounds.

Sepak takraw is until Wednesday at UNO-R covered court; swimming at Panaad tomorrow and Wednesday; table tennis until Thursday at Amity Table Tennis Association court.

Taekwando will be at VMA gym Tuesday and Wednesday while volleyball, which started yesterday and end Friday, can be seen at Bays Center, UNO-R, and Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Beach volleyball will be on October 29 and 30 at Bantayan Park in Bago City.
