German polymer producer sets sights on booming Philippine real estate

GERMAN polymer product manufacturer Rehau Group is seeing strong growth in the country, supported by a robust construction and real estate industry.

“We are banking on the continued developments in the country. The boom in construction and real estate here is really promising,” said Rehau Philippines country manager Christopher delos Reyes.

He was recently in Cebu to introduce the company’s latest offering intended for the plumbing and sanitary market, the Raufusion PPR system, as well as to reveal Asia’s Best as its exclusive distributor.

According to Delos Reyes, the Raufusion PP-R system comes equipped with a specially designed fusion tools system that makes plumbing and fixing easy.

“Plumbing accounts for less than five percent of the total construction cost. If problems like leakage arise, that gives a headache to owners and contractors,” he said.

This new plumbing product, he said, will not only cater to the premium niche market, but also middle-income buyers.

Reyes said he is confident more construction and real estate players would shift to this new technology, as the construction sector now employs more sophisticated tools for the safety and quality of projects.

As a testament of their confidence in the Philippine market, delos Reyes said, the Rehau Group recently established a Philippine office in the Taipan Center in Pasig City.

Rehau has provided polymer products for the industrial, construction and automotive sectors since 1948, when it was founded in a Bavarian town named Rehau. Among its customers are Panasonic and Mercedes Benz.

According to its website, Rehau’s products range from the first magnetic gasket system for refrigerator doors (launched in 1958) and a silicone seal that went to space aboard the Ariane Rocket in 1994, to heating and cooling systems and medical technology solutions.
