ABOUT 200 families are expected to participate in the annual adoption forum on Saturday in line with the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) celebration of the Adoption Consciousness Week.
DSWD 11 Regional Director Priscilla Razonsaid the forum aims to "raise the awareness and consciousness of the public on legal adoption".
"Biological children as well as adoptive children can enjoy and should enjoy equal rights," Razonsaid.
At an adoption forum yesterday for potential adoptive parents wherein Razon said clinics and maternity hospitals were invited to make them understand that infants who are voluntarily surrendered by parents after birth should also go through legal adoption.
Razon said 40 children for adoption at the Reception and Study Children Center are up for adoption. (KGL)
