THREE people were arrested for illegal mining in Zamboanga del Norte, police reported Wednesday.
Ranel Sumagang, Alvin Kim Requina and Alfe Tero were arrested early Tuesday morning at an illegally built mine in the watershed in Barangay Rizalina, Rizal town.
A fourth man, a certain Boy Pagente, escaped, police said.
Explosive ingredients, two shotguns with ammunitions, and mining equipment were seized from the suspects.
The alleged mining operator, Christiflor Dulang, was not around when police arrived at the mine site. (Bong Garcia)
