Nofa general assembly set

NEGROS Occidental football clubs will meet in the Negros Occidental Football Association’s (Nofa) General Assembly tomorrow, 9 a.m. at the Business Inn in Bacolod City.

Nofa president Ricky Yanson said the meeting is an opportunity for football clubs to meet the new officers and exchange ideas on how to improve the sports in the province.

“This is our first assembly and I am inviting the board of directors and the officers of various clubs in the province to join us in this event.

We have also invited prospect clubs to witness how we are going to run this organization,” Yanson added.

Yanson, the long-time Negros football patron of Dynamic FC and Dynamic

Football League (DFL), was elected last December.

San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. is vice president while the

Directors are Junie Lizares (Minuluan FC), Raymando Baldava (Don Bosco FC), Mariano Antonio Cui III (San Carlos FC), Jose Ma. Sanson (Bago City FC), Augustine Rey Rivas (Kabankalan FC), and Gerald Pornan (Ma-ao FC).

Former president Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco is honorary board member, representing Pontevedra FC.

Yanson, who has been the frontrunner of successful staging of DFL age-groups as avenue for young aspiring players from the grassroots, said they are looking forward to further strengthen the development of football in the province.

“With this program, we are hoping to cultivate future Philippine Azkals from our province in five years,” he added. (HGD)
