Judy Ann Santos wants to meet Kris Aquino in person

AFTER their brief misunderstanding stemming from their controversial social media posts, Judy Ann Santos wants to meet Kris Aquino in person.

In a Cinema News interview aired on Saturday, Santos said she is standing by her decision to voice out her comments on Aquino's brother, President Benigno Aquino III, after the Chief Executive failed to attend the arrival ceremony for the 44 police commandos who died in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

Santos said she was just emotional during that time and she has the right to give her comments on the issue.

"Nung nagbigay ako ng emosyon ko nung araw na 'yun, ang raw ng emosyon ko, nanonood ako ng news at napaka vulnerable ko that time. Nilabas ko lang yung nasasaloob ko at opinyon ko. Nagkataon lang na ako lang ang nagsalita," she said.

The actress reiterated she does not despise the President, but his actions.

"Maybe the people around the President at that time could have said something para mas naging maayos yung situation. Sana na-handle lang ng maayos," she said referring to the January 25 botched operation to arrest two top terrorists in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

Santos added that she respects Kris' decision to unfollow her on Instagram, saying that she might do the same thing if she's in her shoes.

"Palagay ko wala namang mali sa sinabi ko. Wala akong minura, wala akong tinapakan and opinyon ni Kris na mag unfollow at nire-respeto ko 'yun kasi private account niya 'yun and it's her own decision," she said.

"Siguro kung ako yung nasa posisyon niya, para maiwasan ko na makapagsabi ng masama sa ibang tao, I would have done maybe the same. It's just that na magnify lang ng bonga," she added.

Asked if she will appear in Kris' morning program "Kris TV," Santos said she prefers to meet the TV host off camera first and discuss things.

"It's much appropriate na magkita muna kami ng personal, aksidente man or sa isang okasyon, bago man magsama. Mas maganda na mag-usap muna kung magkita man. I also want to explain my side to Kris face to face," she said.

Meanwhile, the television and movie actress denied that Kris was behind the cancelation of her program, "Bet On Your Baby."

She said Kris had nothing to do with it because the game show was scheduled to end two weeks prior to the Mamasapano incident.

"Nakarating din sa akin yan. To make things clear, even before the incident happened, tapos na kaming mag taping. Nagkataon lang na nung lumabas yung issue, last week na ng 'Bet on Your Baby' 'yun. Two weeks ago pa, tapos na akong mag taping," she said.

"Unfair naman kay Kris na isinabit siya sa isyu na yun. Hindi totoo na konektado si Kris sa pagkawala ng program and it was management situation and it was decided two weeks before the incident happened," she added.

The actress added that Kris will always have her respect.

"Hindi man kami super close as friends, there's always respect and warm sa pagkakaibigan namin. We never had any expectations kung gaano kalalim yung friendship namin. We are professional enough to respect each other's opinion," Santos said.

The actress will return on television via an upcoming project alongside Richard Yap. (Sunnex)
