Palace joins Filipinos in mourning for death of Herrera

MALACANANG extended Friday condolences to the family of former Senator Ernesto Herrera who died Thursday due to cardiac arrest.

"We join the nation in mourning the death of former Senator Ernesto 'Boy' Herrera," Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said in a media briefing.

He remembered Herrera for his contributions to the country.

"He served the country with distinction as a legislator, trade union leader, and as a human rights advocate, for which he also received international recognition," the Palace official said.

He added that Herrera would also be remembered as one of those who took a stand for restoring democracy in the country. (SDR/Sunnex)
