Fil-Chi chamber aids ‘Lando’ victims

CANDABA -- The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated (FFCCCII)-San Fernando on Friday extended aid to the seven municipalities in the province that were affected by the recent Typhoon "Lando."

Eddie Chua, FFCCCII-San Fernando president, said their organization is always ready to help their kabalens especially in times of calamity and disaster.

FFCCCII-San Fernando went to the municipalities of Arayat, Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, Apalit, Macabebe and Masantol to provide relief goods such as rice, sardines and noodles.

FFCCCII distributed 1,700 packs of goods in Arayat and Apalit; 1,500 packs in Candaba, San Luis and San Simon; and 1,000 packs in Macabebe and Masantol.

Chua said they are keeping extra packs during their distribution in case there will be a need for more. He reminded the typhoon victims to "keep their faith and stay strong" as everything will pass soon.

Meanwhile, the local government here headed by Mayor Rene Maglanque extended their gratitude to the organization for their assistance.
"Malaking bagay ang dala nilang tulong dahil alam naman natin na malaking pinsala ang dinala ng bagyo sa ating munisipyo," he said.

As of yesterday, 90 percent of the province is already floodless. The municipalities are now conducting cleaning and clearing operations.
