TADIAN, Mountain Province – If the Tadian Springs truly heals, the small town can be a Mecca for wellness.
Mayor Anthony Wooden welcomes tourism brought by the now famous healing springs but said before publicity took over the Kayan West springs, people have flocked in the area for healing.
"It has been known by locals for a long time," said Wooden.
Wooden added the springs have been known by locals for its healing powers, which have been proven to cure skin diseases attested by locals.
The mayor said the water from the springs have been tested for bacteria by the Department of Science and Technology and was cleared from harmful elements.
Wooden added the DOST findings have certified the water from the spring is safe to drink with Calcium, Magnesium and Sulfur in the water.
When publicity took over, television exposure has set the area into the limelight and gathered tourists in the area for the past months.
Wooden said the water from the springs is called "Danum Kabunyan".
Visitors are required to register at the Barangay Office of Kayan East and are reminded of the 40 liters limit, which can be collected by each person.
A P10 environmental fee is also collected for environmental maintenance as Wooden said supply from the spring is strong and is estimated to fill a 20-liter container per minute.
