Troops rescue would-be trafficking victims

FOUR women illegally recruited to work in Malaysia were rescued by authorities in Tawi-Tawi last Friday and their recruiter arrested, the military said.

The four, identified only as Marilou, Clarisa, Claiza, and Ritz, were aboard a ferry moored at the Chinese Pier in Bongao town, according to Capt. Ma. Rowena Muyuela, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer.

Muyuela said the recruiter, identified only as Henry, were on the same ferry, which was bound for Malaysia.
