Salon de Rose: 28 branches and counting

AS beauty salons have sprouted all over Cebu, Salon de Rose is unfazed by competition.

The business, which was founded 43 years ago, continues to grow its network, adding more branches next year and embarking on new business ventures such as coming up with their own brand of hair care products and opening of new and stand-alone barber shop and nail salon.

“We never cease to expand our network. We feel that there is still a huge market for beauty and wellness, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao area that remains untapped. But, while we continue to grow our branches, we are also innovating our products and services,” said Prime Asprer, sales and marketing head of Salon de Rose Inc.

In 2018, Salon de Rose will be opening in Zamboanga and Dumaguete. This year, the homegrown firm opened two new branches in Tagbilaran and Ozamis cities.

At present, Salon de Rose has about 28 branches nationwide, all company-owned and operated. Sixteen of these branches are located in Cebu while three branches are in Imus, Bacoor, and Festival Mall in Alabang in Metro Manila.

Asprer said the brand’s being a one-stop shop beauty and wellness destination for men and women brought them a strong base of loyal clients. They also took pride in being a true Cebuano business, which puts emphasis on quality customer service that even non-Cebuanos are comfortable with the brand.

“We see competition as an opportunity to grow. Our local and international partners (for products), for instance, have seen our continuous growth, our expanding market, and the level of service that is at par with the big chains,” said Asprer.

Salon de Rose has become the recent partner of the global gel polish brand, Gelish and sister company Morgan Taylor for its nail care services. The nail polish brands picked Cebu as their point of entry to the Philippines for their Matadora collection, citing the robust beauty and wellness market in this side of the country.

Besides growing the number of branches, Asprer also announced that they will be launching their own hair care brand SDR Essentials, which will be used at their salons and will be made available for retail soon at its sister-company, Rose Pharmacy.

“We understand that not all of our clients in the salon can afford the high-end hair care products we offer. So we are creating our own, SDR Essentials, which would cater to the needs of this market segment,” he said, adding that hair wax will be the first product they will launch starting next month followed by shampoo, and conditioner, among others.

Next year, they will open a new barber shop and nail salon to capture the competitor’s market.
