Viray: All roads lead to Pampanga

PAMPANGA is now the center of investments. Both public and private firms have targeted Clark as the center piece of their business ventures.

The Social Security System is to invest P30 billion in hotel development in cooperation with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA).

Alviera has increased its investments in Porac from P90 Billion to P100 billion. Alviera will not only be a first class residential area but would include an industrial park which would cater to food manufacturing, motorcycling assembly, packaging, logistics and warehousing.

The Alviera has widened from 1,100 hectares to 1,800 hectares. De la Salle Philippines is upbeat in launching a 23 hectare garden with 25 themed garden patches. The project draws inspiration from the botanical gardens of France and London. Expect the evolution of the place to a green city – only one of its kinds in the Philippines.

The transfer of the Office of the Department of Transportation from Metro Manila to Clark is symbolic. It makes Clark the center of the Build, Build, Build Program of the present administration. Sec. Arthur Tugade holds office right here so he can personally oversee the swift transformation of the area.

We can expect easier coordination among CDC, BCDA and Mr. Tugade’s department for the full blast implementation of the Clark’s International Airport status. There is no other place as strategic and as ready as Clark for a parallel airport outside of Manila.

The completion of the train facilities to and from Clark would spark furious activities that benefit the entire Central Luzon, particularly Pampanga.

Meanwhile, San Fernando is experiencing a boom in economic gains. SM, the retail giant is to maintain three stores in the capital city. The latest is the Telabastagan SM Aura, which is reportedly the biggest provincial branch.

The Pasudeco compound is to be transformed into a giant enterprise by Megaworld. It augurs well for the residents of Barangay Sto. Niño. The Laus Group continues to expand with foray in the eatery business. Best Western Bendix Hotel is now operational. The Orchid Gardens is on the way to recouping investments. Many eateries/restaurants have mushroomed in the city that signals economic growth.

It is a pleasant experience to come to Pampanga. It is a distinct honor to be known as a resident of the Kapampangan Republic.
