Chinese groups donate P500,000 relief goods

THE Filipino-Chinese Federation and Zamboanga Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Incorporated has donated P500,000 worth of relief goods for the victims of the recent storm surge and flash flood in Zamboanga City.

The donation was turned over to City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar on Friday.

The donated items, which consist of rice, sardines, noodles and other goods, will augment the city’s current stocks that include donations from other agencies, private groups and individuals.

Salazar lauded and thanked the two Chinese groups for continuously partnering with the City Government.

Last October 19, the Filipino-Chinese Chamber also turned over donations to the City Government, which were immediately distributed to flash flood and storm surge victims in the city.
