Six delicious reasons to dine at Marco Polo

HOTELS may be primarily for accommodation but a brave few pushed beyond expectations and have become known not just for their posh suites but for gastronomic food as well.

Introducing Marco Polo Plaza Cebu’s Signature Six: a delightful and diverse curation of the hotel’s best culinary creations. Get your appetite ready and let’s go on an Epicurean adventure.

Adobo

Marco Polo’s take on this classic Filipino dish is no-fuss and straightforward—tender cuts of pork and chicken coated in a delicious savory sauce. One can get this either a la carte or at the buffet in Cafe Marco. Word of caution: one cup of rice might not be enough.

Mango Cheesecake

The cheesecake is given a proudly Cebuano touch with a luscious crowning of perfectly ripe mangoes. This already indulgent dessert is made more heavenly with a halo of icing and—gasp—a crust made from the famous Malicious Cookies!

Malicious Cookies

What started out as a side for an order of coffee became an award-winning dessert of the hotel. A certain customer who ordered coffee kept asking for the cookies and called it “malicious” because of how addicting these were, hence, the name. Do yourself a favor and try one of these sinful discs loaded with chocolate chips. But don’t expect eating only one because after all, they’re not called malicious for nothing.

Ensaimadas

Available in Classic, Ube and Mango, these fluffy pastries are perfect for afternoon coffee breaks. Marco Polo’s Ensaimadas also come in boxes of three or six which make them great for pasalubong!

Silk Road Iced Coffee

This rich blend of overnight-infused coffee, cinnamon syrup and milk topped with torched marshmallows and sweet meringue is heaven in a glass for coffee lovers. This bittersweet concoction is also served with a perfectly warmed Cinnamon S’mores.

Earl Grape Iced Tea

Not your typical iced tea, Marco Polo’s take on this popular drink is a mix of elderflower syrup, earl gray tea and crushed seedless green grapes—served in a beautiful carafe, making this drink not just refreshing but visually stunning as well.

The food items are exclusive to Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, while the two signature drinks are available in all Marco Polo properties—whether it’s in the Philippines, China or Hong Kong.
