Former councilman shoots two farmers

TWO farmers were injured after they were shot by a former councilman at Sitio Cabigwan, Barangay Balicotoc in Ilog, Negros Occidental Thursday afternoon, October 26.

Wounded were Rogelio Albofera, 28, and Marjun Gestupa, 26, both residents of the said village.

Investigation showed the two victims were on their way home around 12:10 p.m. when suspect Jimmy Condez, a former kagawad of Barangay Balicotoc, fired at them.

Albofera sustained a lone gunshot wound in the left arm while Gestupa was hit in the stomach and left arm.

Both victims were brought to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.

The suspect remains at-large.

Police eyed a grudge between Gestupa and Condez as the motive.
