Bizman hurt, robbed by 2 gunmen

A BUSINESSMAN was robbed and shot by two unidentified gunmen on General Maxilom Ext., Barangay Carreta, Cebu City last Sunday afternoon.

Senior Insp. Jovito Labra, chief of the Waterfront Police Station, said that victim Lourde Villacanillo, 35, allegedly had an illegal drug transaction in the area.

They suspect that Villacanillo was in the area to buy shabu but the two unidentified assailants, who were possibly the drug sellers, decided to take away his money.

“We believed that he was about to pay for the drugs but the persons who had the shabu robbed him instead,” Labra said.

Villacanillo was standing by the roadside when the two unidentified motorcycle-riding men held him at gunpoint and declared a hold-up.

Recovered

The victim fought back and was shot.

The gunmen fled and left their motorcycle after the incident.

The victim’s money worth P25,235 was recovered.

Villacanillo is currently recuperating in a hospital while investigators of the Cebu City Police Office have yet to identify the gunmen. (JOB)
