Finding Christmas gifts at Chimes

IT WAS an early Christmas shopping run for the shoppers as Chimes Boutiques held its two-day Chimes Pre-Holiday Trunk Show from October 21 to 22, 2017.

"This is the first time that Chimes is having a holiday bazaar or a trunk show. The reason why we are doing this is because we want the Dabawenyos to go here and see it as a venue for shopping and as a way for us to introduce new products," said Chimes Business Unit Head Ia Alano-Vergel de Dios.

The ground floor of the Chimes Flagship store in Monteverde was transformed into a festive holiday shopping venue that was decorated by Annie Lim, one of Davao City's leading event planners and designers. The set-up featured curated selection of unique and incredibly beautiful pieces in fashion, healthy living, and home.

"We want to touch hearts by making our guest and VIPs feel that they are just at home picking gifts for their friends and loved ones. We want the feel to be very homey, personal yet festive surrounded with decorations you’ll see in their house to celebrate the Holiday season," said Alano-Vergel de Dios.

The trunk show featured over 25 exhibitors, which includes Crystal Seas, Burts Bees, Soleil et Lune, Baylis and Harding, Juliann Candice, JO by Joyce Orena, Canvas, Aetrex, BackJoy, Fitflop, Regetta Canoe, Style Cat by Yuki Tansengco, Summerdrops, Fringy, Heart & Bolt, Havaianas, Fitflop, Corckcicle, Mayown, Dyson, Chic Curator, Atsui, Ben Sherman, Olive Tree, Garyns, Casa Mercedes, and Bronx, among others. Some of the clothes and accessories were also presented in a mini fashion show.

"The Chimes Pre Holiday Trunk Show is also about showcasing quality products you’ll find only in Chimes. We promise to offer a quality event with good products. It’s about quality shopping,” said Alano-Vergel de Dios.

To add more excitement for the two-day event, for every P5,000 purchase from the trunk show, guests have the chance to get a special gift from the featured brands through their pop-a-balloon wall.

Alano-Vergel de Dios also said what makes the trunk show special is because this is also being done for a cause, which is raising funds for the victims of the recent Marawi siege.

“We have dedicated the Tree of Hope where customers can buy Christmas ornament balls that they can write on and hang in the tree as part of their support," said Cindy Yap, Senior Vice President of Felcris Group.

Alano-Vergel de Dios said the ornament balls are sold at P149 and the proceeds will go to the victims of the Marawi siege. The charity activity will run until December.

“Our exhibitors are not just vendors — they are part of the cause to support the victims of Marawi, to raise awareness, and to promote aid and assistance to the town of Marawi who until now is suffering,” Yap said.
