Bondoc implements food for work program

CANDABA -- After the destruction brought by Typhoon "Lando," Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc implemented a "food for work" program as aid to the flood-stricken families here.

In order to help fix the aftermath of the recent typhoon, Bondoc tasked the village chairmen of the 33 barangays here to lead the cleanup of their barangays over the weekend.

After the onslaught of "Lando," piles of “banlik” and branches of trees are still littered on the roads of the municipality, particularly in the Poblacion area where the Pampanga River is near.

In return, Bondoc distributed relief goods to households in barangays as compensation and aid to the affected families. Some 14,000 packs of relief goods containing basic commodities were distributed.

Heavy equipment such as loaders and dump trucks were likewise provided by the congressman to help in the municipal cleanup.

Bondoc also checked the infrastructures destroyed by "Lando" such as the Sto. Rosario Bridge and flood mitigation bases.

During the distribution, he vowed to the people to provide a budget for the reconstruction of the infrastructures.

During the distribution, Bondoc was accompanied by Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque and other officials, together with aspiring board members Alvin Ignacio and Rolando "Pol" Balingit.
