Taxi driver stabbed by passenger

A TAXI driver was stabbed by his unidentified passenger, who also attempted to rob him at Feroza Road, Jesusa Heights Subdivision in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Sunday night, police said.

Chief Inspector Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 4, said the passenger-robber flagged down the taxi driven by Edmundo Trinidad Jr., 44, of Barangay Handumanan, at Central Market past 7 p.m.

He told Trinidad to bring him to the said village. He then declared a hold-up.

Trinidad drove his vehicle into a tree to create noise. He fought back and was able to call for help from nearby residents while the passenger escaped.

The taxi driver sustained bruises and two stab wounds in his abdomen.

He was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Police recovered inside the vehicle a guitar owned by the passenger, who failed to take anything from the victim. (GYM)
