Homicide raps filed vs cop for death of 17-yr-old boy

A POLICEMAN of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is facing a criminal complaint for the death of a 17-year-old boy at Old Airport in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City two weeks ago.

Police Officer 2 Ryan Sagon was charged by the Women and Children Protection Desk before the City Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, October 30.

On October 19, Sagon spotted the minor allegedly stealing scrap materials. The boy drew his firearm, but the police officer fired first.

The bullet ricocheted hitting the minor in the head, causing his death.

The BCPO had earlier clarified that Sagon conducted a legitimate operation since he was on duty at the time.

The minor’s family in media interviews called for justice.

Sagon, who is assigned at Police Station 8, will also face administrative charges.
