Middle of Hong Kong

THERE are reasons why Hong Kong is a preferred tourist destination. It’s an ultra-metropolis that builds on the urban lifestyle. It’s easy on the eyes—tourist spots like Ngong Ping or Disneyland; easy on the stomach—imagine roasted duck with its tender meat and crispy skin or a hearty bowl of noodles; easy on the mind—moving from one place to another in this big city is relatively easy thanks to the efficient public mass transport system.

Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong is right in the middle of all this action, a message its director of communications Samantha Poon and assistant communications manager Angel Wong brought with them during a media dinner Cebu and Davao press held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu last Oct. 24. With that, both ladies gladly took the time to share the updates and events people can look forward to for its roster of hotels: Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Gateway Hotel and Prince Hotel.

For Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, the landmark along the legendary Canton Road showcases a “fresh new look,” according to its general manager Thomas Salg.

“We provide each guest with memorable stays and experiences, and our dedication to enrich our product and service is just one example of delivering exemplary standards for the industry. A fresh new look allows for our hotel, one that holds fond memories for so many, to shine like a jewel on Hong Kong’s harbourfront,” said Salg.

Ongoing until Nov. 11, the hotel continues to hold a signature event: the Marco Polo German Bierfest. This award-winning event treats hotel guests to an outdoor Oktoberfest experience. A “Bed and Bierfest” room package (inclusive of two complimentary entrance tickets to the party plus freebies) is currently available through the hotel’s website.

For Gateway Hotel, it is about to unveil its entirely new Continental Club floor. Located on the 17th floor, business professionals and luxury leisure travelers can enjoy any of the 21 newly appointed guestrooms and suites showcasing Hong Kong’s dramatic skyline and the exclusive Continental Club Lounge.

And the brand new sparkling lobby of Prince Hotel does not even serve as a conclusion to all these exciting developments. Recently, Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong welcomed Vanessa Kong, a veteran in the hospitality industry, as its director of sales and marketing. And last July, Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Gateway Hotel and Prince Hotel won the Merit Award at the 2017 HKMA Quality Award ceremony, a testament to how these hotels match and surpass the needs and expectations of a hotel guest who’s right in the middle of the vibrant Hong Kong lifestyle.
