Farmer, 25, to face rap for marijuana cultivation

A 25-YEAR-OLD farmer was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 for allegedly cultivating marijuana in the mountain village of Buhisan, Cebu City last Monday afternoon.

Suspect Cresencio Tantiado will be charged with violating Section 16 (cultivation or culture of plants classified as dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Nine fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted by PDEA 7 agents, village watchmen and police.

The plants have an estimated market value of P2,700. (KAL)
