CEBU Gov. Hilario Davide III yesterday said that the Province has allocated P25 million to buy patrol vehicles for the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CCPO) so they could be more effective in preventing and solving crimes.
“We can choose the police stations that can receive the first batch of vehicles. If we can get more funds in the future, we will allocate more funds through a supplemental budget,” Davide said.
He said he wants the police to respond to any alarm immediately.
The governor also said his administration will push through with a multi-level parking project to solve the lack of parking spaces in the Capitol compound.
Davide said that if a 20-storey multi-purpose building will be constructed in the space formerly occupied by the Bureau of Agricultural Extension, the Capitol would run out of parking spaces.
“A multi-level parking area can accommodate the vehicles of Capitol employees and visitors, especially if we have events,” Davide said. (EOB)
