CHINA has come of age, and how! Consul General Shi Yong of the Consulate General People’s Republic of China (PROC) addressed a well-attended dinner crowd at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu to celebrate PROC’s 68th founding anniversary.
Over the past 68 years, China has made remarkable strides in its economic, social and cultural undertakings. It is now the world’s second largest economy, and biggest trader of goods and more!
As China expands worldwide, its relationship with our country has likewise, entered into a golden period of rapid development. As for Cebu, in particular, there have been several regional exchanges such as Fujian Province Trade delegation visited Cebu twice, and Chengdu City and Cebu City, have signed a Sisterhood Agreement. Naning City has also renewed its friendship with Mandaue City etc.
The evening’s entertainment likewise, zeroed in on Filipino-Chinese cultural dances, as performed by gifted children from local Chinese schools. This gesture has indeed warmed the hearts of the Chinese dignitaries that night.
