IF plans didn’t miscarry, many could have had a surprise personal encounter with young Cebuana actress Kim Chiu as she visited some cinemas in Cebu which exhibited her latest starrer, “The Ghost Bride.” There was no scheduled press conference with Kim who was in town for All Saints Day and All Souls Day. However, promo diva Josie Pereyra requested Star Cinema to take advantage of the opportunity to make her followers happy, so a theater tour was inserted into Kim’s hectic schedule.
I had to beg off from the invitation sent by Bigseed to watch the finals of the Binibining Cebu pageant in favor of a pressing out-of-town commitment. So when I learned of the winners’ circle, I checked my list which I made during the swimsuit competition some weeks back. I concur with the board of judges chairperson, Charo Santos-Concio, when she admitted that they had a tough job because the candidates were all stunning. That’s why in my list, I actually had five other ladies, besides the winners, whom I believed had strong chances of winning. Anyway, congratulations to the winners and the organizers.
GMA primetime king Dingdong Dantes led the Kapuso stars in their back-to-back mall tour last weekend. With Dingdong is his “Alyas Robin Hood” co-star Solenn Heussaff. Heart Evangelista-Escudero was also with her “My Korean Jagiya” co-stars Alexander Lee and Edgar Allan Guzman. I also missed the presscon with the Kapuso royalties because of the same out-of-town commitment. However, I promised the GMA7 corporate communications staff that I will make it a point to be around the next time around.
