Alob tops 17 entries for gold in Korea

MCAVYNGER Alob bagged a gold medal, while Nica Garces took home bronze in the recent Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships at the Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea.

McAvynger won the gold in the Individual Music Poomsae beating jins from 17 other countries including host South Korea.

“As a father I am very proud of his achievement, even the Cebu taekwondo community. As what sir Tony del Prado said the other day ‘Macmac will be the next big thing in Cebu Taekwondo’,” said McAvynger’s father Avenger Alob.

McAvynger, a homegrown talent in Cebu, is currently a member of the varsity of De La Salle University.

“He will not be where he’s right now without the help of Cebu Taekwondo community, sir Tony and the coaching staff of the Philippine Taekwondo team. I know there’s still a lot to learn but he’s getting there one step at a time,” said Avenger.
