ANGELES CITY -- A 69-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her two gardeners who are both minors.
Florida Velasquez of Diamond Subdivision in Barangay Balibago here was allegedly stabbed and strangled to death by the suspects, whom she caught trying to steal her jewelry.
The 15-year-old and 17-year-old gardeners reportedly came in for work on October 21 and forcibly entered the victim’s residence by destroying its back door.
Chief Inspector Aris Gonzales, Angeles City Police Station 4 chief, said the suspects admitted that they decided to kill Velazquez after they were caught inside her house.
The police official added that the minors’ original plan was to steal some of Velasquez’s properties.
The suspects stabbed the victim 16 times before strangling her with a TV cable.
Police found traces of the victim's blood inside her room where the suspects took the jewelry.
Velazquez's body was found by her therapist a few hours after the incident.
The two suspects are now under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
