A WINTER holiday is the stuff of dreams. But since not all have the luxury of experiencing the winter season anytime soon, how about indulging in a different kind of snow instead?

Hailing all the way from South Korea, Cafe Berry brings a sweet kind of snow from the Land of The Morning Calm to the Queen City of the South.

“We started this cafe because we want Cebuanos to experience the food and culture of South Korea without having to travel there,” said manager Lord James Bajarias. Cafe Berry specializes in “snow,” a fluffy cream-based dessert with a variety of equally sweet toppings such as fresh fruit and cookies. Cafe Berry’s snow flavors include Strawberry, Blueberry, Mango, Oreo and the bestselling Cream Cheese, which is made with alternating layers of delicate snow and creamy soft serve, drizzled with caramel syrup and topped with cream cheese florets—with every spoonful is a heavenly combination of sweet and tart.

Aside from snow, Cafe Berry also offers sundaes and frappes in flavors such as Strawberry Banana, Apple Yogurt and Affogato. If one is craving something more on the bitter side, Cafe Berry also offers the classic caffeinated concoctions such as Cafe Latte, Cappuccino and Caramel Macchiato, which are made from 100 percent Arabica coffee. Waffles, pancakes and an assortment of cakes like Red Velvet and Choco Mousse are also available to go with one’s coffee.

Opened last August, Cafe Berry’s SM Seaside City branch and its Instagrammable interiors will leave one smitten upon entering it. Described as “semi-industrial with a touch of European romance.” Rustic elements of wood and greens are juxtaposed with urban touches such as exposed piping painted in chic rose gold.

The expansive bookshelf wall makes for a great backdrop for photos as well. The Seaside branch also has a breathtaking al fresco area, facing the sea.

“Most of our main ingredients are sourced from South Korea. We always make sure that what we use are high quality. I think that is our edge over other coffee shops or ice cream shops—our ingredients.”

Indulge in Cafe Berry’s snow and other sweet offerings at its three branches: Seaview Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu, K Building at Salinas Drive in Lahug, Cebu City and Insular Square in Mandaue City, Cebu.
