A 37-YEAR–OLD farmer allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with the use of a still undisclosed firearm inside their house at Dao-angan village, Boliney in Abra province on November 1.
Authorities identified the fatality as Michael Pimmangen Ao-a.
Initial investigation revealed the victim and his cousins were having a drinking session in the compound of their house and he kept arising his sentiments regarding the untimely death of his father nine days ago due to lingering illness and even uttered in a short span of time, will end his life.
Later, he went inside their house and two gunshots were heard from inside prompting his cousins to immediately look inside to see what happened.
To their surprise, they saw the victim’s body sprawled on the floor with blood oozing from his head while holding a still undisclosed type of forearm.
The victim was rushed by his relatives to the Boliney District Hospital for medical treatment but he was transferred to the Abra Provincial Hospital where his attending physicians declared him dead on arrival due to fatal gunshot wounds.
Authorities said the case is still subject to further investigation.
