(UPDATED) -- The police and military forces have arrested the Indonesian wife of slain terrorist leader Omar Khayam Maute at her house in 8017 Steele Makers Village, Tubod, Iligan City, Sunday morning, November 5.
The Iligan City Police and the military arrested Minhati Madrais alias "Baby" along with her six children during the operation.
Authorities seized four blasting caps; two detonating cords, and a time fuse inside the house of Madrais.
Police said the arrest is based on the information that Madrais is figured in the Arrest, Search and Seizure Order 1 (ASSO 1) issued by the Department of National Defense.
Senior Superintendent Leony Roy Ga, Iligan City Police chief, said Madrais may have been coming back and forth to the Philippines since 2012 as reflected on her passport.
Ga, however, said Madrais' passport expired last year.
"2012 siya pumunta dito basi sa kanyang passport and since then pabalik-balik na siya. Last year, pa-extend-extend siya ng two months until December na di na talaga siya nag-extend,"Ga told reporters.
Ga said they are still investigating the possible involvement of Madrais in the Marawi City seige.
Authorities will also subject the confiscated items including the cellphone of Madrais into forensic examination.
"Di pa natin masabi ang involvement niya kasi ongoing pa ang investigation. Ang sabi niya pagkagulo sa Marawi hinatid daw siya dito sa Iligan,"Ga said.
"Ongoing ngayon ang debriefing sa kanya pati yung cellphone niya ay subject for forensic examination baka makuha natin mga possible linkages niya,"Ga added.
Ga said Madrais claim she and Omar Maute were classmates in Egypt before she became a teacher.
Authorities are set to charge Madrais with illegal possession of explosives while her four daughters and two sons will be turned over to the social welfare department.
"Yung edad ng mga bata ay 12 yung eldest at 9 months old ang youngest," Ga said.
