No outpost? No problem —Imok

What will happen to Barangay Ermita’s seven outposts at the Carbon public market if the Cebu City Government demolishes them?

Barangay Captain Felicisimo Rupinta said that since the outposts help ensure police visibility in the area, they will have to replace the structures with something more mobile.

“Because they have alleged that our outposts have encroached the market complex, we will just put up tables and chairs to replace our outposts. That way, our residents can still have some place to go to if they have concerns. At the same time, our tanods can still man the area even without the old structures,” he said.

The village chief, though, remains hopeful that the City will heed their appeal to spare their outposts from being cleared.

On orders of the mayor, a City Hall team began demolishing the structures last Friday. (RTF)
