Local Christian band to hold concert in Oro

THE Agalon band of Cagayan de Oro will hold its 1st praise and worship concert on November 10, Friday at 6 in the evening at Northpoint City Church, Rizal Theater, Capistrano Avenue, Cagayan de Oro City.

The band will perform their very own praise and worship songs.

According to Irwin Dagoc, Lead Guitar of the band, the group was name Agalon because they consider the Lord Jesus as the Chief and Superior Super Being, the Creator of all, so the band is technically a band of God.

"Among gitawag og Agalon kay among giila ang labing agalon kay si JESUS, kay the word Lord gikan mani siya sa Greek word na "kurios" meaning Master, Lord Master, so sa bisaya pa Agalon, diha namo gikuha among banda", Dagoc said.

The band is composed of members of the different Evangelical churches which include the Assembly of God, Blessed Hope Christian Community Church International, El Hannora Christian Ministry, Jesus the only God and Savior, and the Loving Assembly of God Church.

Dagoc said the band is open to the idea of commercializing its songs. He said the band is open to being invited to perform in special gatherings such as blessings or wedding ceremonies.

According to Dagoc, the crowd will be hearing more of their original praise and worship songs that were composed in the Cebuano dialect.

"Mainly praise and worship song jud siya, Cebuano man pod ang mga song so dali ra makakanta ang mga tao, kay maihap nalang bitaw ang mga bisaya nga mga kanta. This one is in our own dialect nato so sayon ra siya," Dagoc added.

According to lead vocalist Melody Faith Tunacao, they are also willing to accept and welcome those interested to be part of their band regardless of religion or race.

"We're open to accept regardless of religion or race anyway si God man amo gina promote dili man ang religion," Tunacao said.

Tunacao added that the ultimate goal of the band is mainly focused in glorifying the Lord.

"Ang amu jud dinhe kay mubuhat mig mga kanta na positive og mo glorify sa Ginoo, wala mi lain goal but to build up the name of God pinaagi sa among mga kanta, wala jud mi ikapasigarbo kay naa pod mi mga sayop basta ang amo lang kay mapataas ang ngalan sa Ginoo," Tunacao added.

The Agalon band members are Jeffrey Viray, Rufino Cagadas, Melody Fith Tunacao, Don Eric Tunacao, Jelissa Oliveros, Melissa Comission, Tommy Rosada, Rey Jojie Puricallan, Paul Naces, Irwin Dagoc and Cris Caagbay.

The band is inviting all Kagay-anons to watch their live performance this coming Friday, November 10.
