Police: No imminent threat for Asean Summit 2017

MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said there is no imminent threat for the Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit 2017 which is scheduled next week.

Despite this, PNP Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, in a report by Radyo Pilipinas, said the entire police force is on full alert starting November 8 to 15.

Under this status, PNP units are available 100 percent for immediate deployment should they be required immediately.

Dela Rosa added that the "Reserve Standby Security Force" at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, is now activated to augment police personnel deployed for Asean security duties. (PNA)
