Mayor: Children are faces of ‘New San Fernando’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Edwin Santiago of this capital city yesterday cited the role of Fernandino youth in creating a green, smart and liveable city in the concept of “New San Fernando.”

Speaking before members of the Local Council for Protection of Children and media men during the launch of Children’s Month yesterday, Santiago said that the children are one of the primary components in building the “dream city” as they are the ones bringing fresh and new ideas.

Santiago noted that the City Government continue’s to tap the youth sector to participate in the proposed development by pooling in their innovative and unconventional idea.

He noted of the “New San Fernando” concept-making through a digital poster making contest conducted recently which was participated in by private and public school students.

Aside from their participation, Santiago noted that the youth also serve as inspiration in achieving the goal of creating a liveable and smart city.

He said that whatever the results of the “New San Fernando” roadmap, the youth and the future generations will be the ones reaping everything.

At sila ang magtutuloy nito kaya kailangan talaga sila dito,” he said.
