JUN Vincent Duron snagged a bronze medal in the final leg and made it to the men’s master A overall Top 5 as the four-leg race of the 2017 Asia Mountainbike Series wrapped up last Saturday in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Duron, a member of Team Rapidino Philippines, clocked 1 hour, 12 minutes and 52 seconds in the 15.2-kilometer cross-country race to cap off the series with a podium finish.
The third-place finish gave the Talisay City, Cebu native Duron a much needed 16 series points that put him at fourth overall with a total of 28 series points.
“From 10th overall coming to the final leg I improved to fourth overall,” said the 32-year-old Duron.
Amir Shahrin of Evanda Corssmac won the final leg in 1:10:05, while Kusnadi Adi of Teagal Indonesia finished at second place in 1:12:45.
“It’s so cool that I made it to the podium in the final leg and also made it to the Top 5 overall ranking. I’m happy that I have achieve my goal,” said Duron. (RSC)
