THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao awarded eight of its personnel who were assigned in the main battle area in Marawi City with "Medalya Ng Kagalingan."

The policemen were tasked in clearing explosive devices along with the army.

PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Andrea dela Cerna said the policemen from Explosive Ordnance Disposal were feted at Camp Sgt Quintin Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City during the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony.

These personnel are Senior Police Officer (SPO3) Yolindo Singson Ypon, SPO3 Joel Pardillo Mancia, SPO3 Delson Jun Carillo Pajota, SPO1 Kevin Indino King, SPO1 Walter Lee Dumayas Melodias, PO3 Jeffrey Olivar Magdirila, PO2 Jhonmer Saavedra Aclo, and PO2 Jose Asupra Raut.

“They assisted the operating troops by means of clearing the area from unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs),” dela Cerna said.

She added that their deployment lasted for one month and 22 days in the main battle area in Marawi City.

“Their exceptional dedication to duty and self-sacrifice greatly contributed to the community PNP organization as well,” she said.
