MISAMIS Oriental provincial board member Mario Emano passed away on Monday, November 6, at the age of 62.
Board member Gerardo Sabal, a close family friend, said Emano died around 10:46 a.m. due to a lingering heart illness.
Sabal said Emano had been at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC) since last week.
Emano was the former president of the Association of Barangay Chairmen (ABC) of Misamis Oriental before becoming a regular board member in 2016.
"Nasubo kami sa pagpanaw sa among kauban sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan ug nakiramay kami sa iyang pamilya,"Sabal said.
Sabal said Emano could have accomplish more and serve the people of the province further as a public servant.
The deceased Emano was the uncle of Governor Yevgeny Emano.
"First degree cousin siya ni Mayor Dongkoy Emano ug uyuan ni Governor Bambi. Iyang eldest nga anak is kapitan sa Poblacion, Tagoloan," Sabal said.
Sabal said the details of the interment has yet to be announced by the family. (Alwen Saliring)
