400 expected to benefit in Navy medical mission

THE Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) is expecting to serve around 400 beneficiaries in their medical and dental civic action program, which will be held in Barangay Ma-a in Talomo District in Davao City on Wednesday, November 8.

Armed forces under the NFEM will be joined by the Civil Military Operation Unit (CMOU) of the Eastern Mindanao in holding the program in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Davao and Department of Health (DOH)-Davao.

NFEM assistant public affairs Ensign Aileen Jansor said the armed forces aims to aid those economically-challenged residents in the area who cannot easily avail medical consultation and dental check-ups at the hospitals and/or clinics.

"We will prioritize those economically less fortunate, those who could not avail medical and dental services," Jansor said, adding that they will be giving also free medicines, supplements and vitamins to the beneficiaries after check-up.

Jansor said the medicines, supplements and vitamins were donations coming from different stakeholders who would also like to extend assistance to those who are in need. She also said the NFEM usually hold similar activity every year.

Aside from the medical and dental civic action program, Jansor said, the NFEM will also have its photo static display in the area for the people to be aware on the role of the Philippine Navy. The activity will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
