P714-M supplemental budget approved on 2nd reading

THE Davao City Council approved on second reading the P714,668,560 Supplemental Budget 2 (SB 2) for 2017 on Monday, November 7.

Committee on Finance, Ways and Means, and Appropriations Danilo Dayanghirang approved the SB 2 for 2017, consisting of the budget under the general fund proper, development fund, and economic enterprises.

General Fund Proper got the topmost share of 62 percent or P446,470,519.42. Under the General Fund proper, the appropriations for the Office of the City Mayor got the highest share of the budget with the amount of P378, 195,315.51 for augmentation of some accounts, payments of Prior Year's Obligation, salary adjustments of job orders (JOs) and contract of services (COS), among others.

The Development Fund got the second highest share with 37 percent or P261,775,172.60. This consists of non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects funded from the reversion of various appropriations for development programs and projects as requested by the Barangay Councils and various offices and departments.

The Davao City Economic Enterprises had smallest share of on1 percent with P6,422,868.32 which will be used mostly for the payment of salary increase for Job Order/ Contract of Services for the period of July-December 2017 of the city government of Davao.

The source of fund for these appropriations came from the reversion of appropriations, surplus from the CY-2016 operations, 15 percent share collection from the Office of the Building Official, savings from the Trust Fund Account transferred to the General Fund and the unappropriated balance. (KVC)
