Capitol PIO proposes higher budget for 2018

THE proposed 2018 budget of the Cebu Provincial Government’s Public Information Office (PIO) has been raised to P37 million from this year’s P24 million.

The PIO is one of the departments scrutinized by the Provincial Board’s (PB) committee on budget and appropriations during the budget hearing yesterday.

PB Member Celestino Martinez III, committee chairperson, told Sunstar Cebu that bulk of the increase will be used for advertisements and printing.

“This means, the budget for media and printing (of newspapers and other publications on Provincial Government’s programs and projects) increased from P3 million to P16 million,” he said. (EOB)
