THE Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel’s team flew over to the country. If the communications team — Samantha Poon, Director, and Angel Wong, assistant —are back in town, there must be something good (if not great) happening at the property.
True, they came bearing good tidings and good news. Over a sumptuous dinner at the Blu Bar & Grill on the top floor of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel in Cebu, the ladies shared why we should all be heading back to Hong Kong soon.
If you’re heading off to Hong Kong this weekend or you're already in the territory, then you’re in for a really good time at the 2017 HKMA Quality Award Merit Awardee, Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotels.
Here are the reasons why.
1. The 26th Marco Polo German Bierfest.
Last year, Marco Polo German Bierfest served more than 48,700 liters of beer, 14,800 pretzels and 11,300 roast pork knuckles. With you around on the 2017 edition, you might just help break the record.
It’s the signature event since its inception in 1992 and 2017 marks the 26th Marco Polo German Bierfest. It kicked off on October 20 and will raise its last beer mug for the year on November 11.
The award-winning event (Gold Award for ‘Best Outdoor Events: Arts, Leisure and Entertainment’ at The Marketing Events Award 2017 organized by Marketing Magazine) brings a carnival-like experience to a unique outdoor setting at Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, against the breathtaking backdrop of Victoria Harbour.
The revelers at Hong Kong’s longest-running outdoor Oktoberfest do get dressed up for the event donning the traditional lederhosen and dirndl to create an authentic ambience. The nightly fun hits a high note when Die Notenhobler band from Germany plays folk and oompah tunes and hosts interactive dancing and drinking games.
There are the finest German beers, like the Erdinger Weißbräu, Erdinger Dunkel and Fischer's Helles, to fill the mug with. These make the best pairings with the authentic Bavarian dishes, including the best crispy pork knuckles in Hong Kong, freshly cooked nightly.
2. Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel reveals fresh new exterior.
The Harbour View Suites and guest rooms overlooking the world-renowned skyline are now available for bookings.
The favorite HK hotel of almost everyone I know recently completed an extensive upgrade to its building facade as part of continued quality improvements.
Not only is this landmark hotel renowned for providing warm and welcoming quality service, it’s also popular because of the view its rooms provide —the view of Victoria Harbour, one of the world's most recognized skylines. You can catch the amazing sunsets from the comfort of your room.
Yes, it’s true what Thomas Salg, General Manager, said, Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel can provide each guest with memorable stays and experiences.
3. Gateway Hotel is poised to unveil an additional new club floor soon.
Have you stayed on a Club Floor before? The perks and privileges are fabulous. Business professionals and luxury leisure travelers can enjoy the sophisticated home-away-from-home and sleek design ethic with the added benefits of an exclusive Continental Club Lounge: private check-in/check-out, daily complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and all-day coffee and tea service, and 24 hours butler service for Club Floor guests.
Continuing to enhance client comfort, Gateway Hotel is about to unveil an entirely new Continental Club floor on the hotel’s uppermost level soon. This will further build on its award-winning design transformation that initially commenced in 2011.
Located on the 17th Floor, twenty-one newly appointed guestrooms and suites offer stunning city views over bustling Canton Road, showcasing Hong Kong’s dramatic skyline.
Oh, did you know that refreshments are restocked daily in the free mini-bar in every guestroom and suite at Gateway Hotel? It’s one of the amenities along with a complimentary handy smartphone and Wi-Fi.
I’m having another shot at these upgrades for sure. Why? I won a two-night stay in a Superior Suite in this hotel. I pray it’s on the new Club Floor.
