974 profiled in Oplan Bulabog; 3 nabbed

SOME 974 individuals from six police stations in Davao City underwent bio-profiling and three persons with standing warrants of arrest were nabbed during the police’s surprise operation dubbed as "Oplan Bulabog" on Wednesday morning, November 8, in line with their anti-criminality and anti-terrorism campaign.

DCPO spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said during the AFP-PNP press forum on Wednesday at Task Force Davao (TFD) headquarters in Sta. Ana Pier that during the joint operation, a total of 974 persons were invited for questioning during the conduct of the Joint Anti-Criminality and Terrorism Operation Plan.

Of this number, 809 persons have IDs, 165 are without IDs, 13 of whom are internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi.

It also resulted to the arrest of three wanted persons identified as Renato Zamoras Cabariana Jr., for Violation of Comelec Resolution on the gun ban; Joel Ragmac Jamora for Less Serious Physical Injury; and Jenelyn Arevalo Quibol for Simple Slander.

The activity started at 6 a.m. and ended around 10:30 a.m..

Gaspan said that it is a pre-emptive security operation on possible criminal and terrorist lairs in the city.

The operation was launched in areas of Police Station (PS2) (Prk 9, Lower Madapo, Brgy 8-A), PS3 (Arroyo Compound, Matina Crossing), PS4 (KM 12, Bolinao Site), PS 6 (Muslim Village, Ilang), PS 8 (Alegre, Manggahan, Toril), PS 9 (Deca Homes, Tacunan) - all in Davao City.

These areas were selected after their barangay officials sought for their assistance to conduct identity check among their constituents after they noticed suspicious personalities and illegal activities.

It was launched in coordination with other law enforcement units in Davao City and Deputy Provincial Directors for Operations of Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO), Compostela Valley PPO, Davao Oriental PPO, Davao del Sure PPO and Davao Occidental PPO and their respective Operations Officers and selective Chiefs of Police as observers.
