Boljoon village opens diversion road after landslide

A DIVERSION road in a village hit by a landslide in Boljoon town will be opened to motorists today.

Eutemio Ternate, Boljoon municipal disaster officer, said that two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles will be able to use the temporary diversion road in Barangay Lower Becerril until the ground stabilizes.

Ternate said that with the opening of the road, farmers living in Boljoon’s upland barangays will be able to safely deliver their produce to the lowlands.

Ternate said they already assured the affected residents that they will be evacuated to safer ground if heavy rains continue to be a threat.

Ternate said 18 families still live in evacuation sites in Lower Becerril as the ground in Sitio Camfranco is still unstable due to continuous rain. (JKV)
