Pampanga bags 3rd CWM regional poster making contest title

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mark Jerome Vidal of San Juan High School gave Pampanga its third consecutive Consumer Welfare Month Regional Poster Making Contest title.

The Grade 10 student bested six other participants and took home the P20,000 cash prize and P5,000 worth of gift certificates.

“I presented in my poster the relationship between consumer rights and the digital age, especially now that people are able to buy various products through the use of social media, and other online sites and applications,” Vidal explained.

This is also San Juan High School’s second straight regional crown.

Jesus Angelo Yabut from Maliwalo High School in Tarlac placed second with P15,000 cash prize and P3,000 worth of gift certificates while Jamilyn Mila from New Cabalan High School in Olongapo City ended third, receiving P10,000 cash prize and P1,500 worth of gift certificates.

“The poster-making contest was meant to provide an avenue where participants can communicate their concepts on how to strengthen, promote and increase awareness of consumer rights through arts,” Department of Trade and Industry Regional Director Judith Angeles said.

This year’s Consumer Welfare Month celebration carries the theme “Consumer Rights in the Digital Age.” (PIA)
