POLICE uprooted 11,000 marijuana plants on Wednesday afternoon, November 8, in the mountain village of Barangay Sibacan, Danao City, Cebu.

The value of the marijuana plants is P2,175,000, said Chief Inspector Gerard Ace Pelare, the city police commander.

No cultivators were caught. The plantation was discovered by the team led by Police Officer 3 Phil Restauro at 3:35 p.m.

Restauro's team uprooted 9,000 fully-grown and 3,000 stalks of marijuana in the village.

Pelare said they will not stop their investigation until they can identify and arrest the cultivators of the marijuana plants. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
