Core Pacific-backed Batch 2000 snatched the Division B title and unseated defending champions Batch 2001 Dynacast, 51-43, in Game 2 of the 22nd Sacred Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (Shaabaa) Basketball tournament at the Magis Eagles Arena yesterday.
Core Pacific also won Game 1, 52-47, last Wednesday.
The older batch held Batch 2001 below double digit in the first two quarters to take control and set the tempo of the match.
Core Pacific’s defense held Dynacast to a miserable 15 of 61 clip from the field, including 13 of 41 from the 2-point field.
Batch 2001’s main offensive powers Joseph Reoma was held to just 2 of 8 shooting.
On the other hand, 2015 Peoples General beat 2005 Bizol to finish third in Division C, while 1990-1992 Kogi-Q defeated 1995 Savers Depot, 57-41, for third in Division B. (RCM)
