Lopue’s-La Salle paddlers shine in Noppscea events

THE Lopue’s-La Salle secondary boys and girls teams mentored by Marell Lagunday ruled the 37th Season of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (Nopsscea) held at VMA Global College on November 9 and 10.

The Lady Stingers, composed of Micah Tanate, Gems Gellang, Stephanie Villanueva, Kylie Villanueva and Cherrica Uytiepo, took the championship after defeating St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod in the finals, 3-0.

The secondary boy’s team of Niel John Lauren, Matthew Tolentino, Elmer Locsin and George Saligumba doused Bacolod Tay Tung High School to win this year’s championship, 3-0.

The Lopue’s-La Salle elementary boys team composed of Joaquin Bragancia, Franz Jedric Geganto, Joaquin Placido Domingo Mapa and Rey Sebastian Diaz finished third after losing to St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod.

The House of Praise Learning Center defeated St. Scholastica’s Academy in the finals.

The House of Praise Learning Center, whose players are members of Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (Loptta), won the championship for both elementary boys and girls divisions.

In the secondary girls individual, Lopue’s-La Salle’s Micah Tanate thrashed VMA’s Gwin Gaviola, 3-0, to win the title while her teammate Gems Gellang settled for second runner-up.

In the secondary boys individual, Niel John Lauren of Lopue’s-La Salle dominated his teammate Elmer Locsin to win the finals while Bacolod Christian College’s Elijah David Bomban, a Loptta member, placed third.

In the elementary boy’s individual, House of Praise Learning Center-Loptta player Matthew Metoda won the championship against his teammate Ashton Legarde while Lopue’s-La Salle’s Joaquin Bragancia settled for third place. (PR)
