NATIONAL Grid Corporation of the Philippines lines were damaged by a lighting storm Tuesday afternoon causing power outage in the highlands.
NGCP information officer Melma Batario said the outage affected the entire Mountain Province, parts of Baguio City and Benguet.
Ater a few hours, the NGCP restored power transmission service in areas affected with the La Trinidad-Sablan 69 KV line affecting parts of Baguio at 8:28 p.m., the La Trinidad-Sagada 69 KV line affecting Mt. Province at 9:54 p.m.
Also restored is the Benguet Electric Cooperative Mankayan substation, after shifting of power source while the La Trinidad-Lepanto line 1 as of this writing is still isolated.
On Wednesday, power in Atok was restored at 10:25 a.m., while the La Trinidad-Sagada 69kV line serving Mt. Province Electric Cooperative was energized at 9:54 p.m. after shifting of power source. BENECO's Mankayan Substation was also energized.
“NGCP apologizes for the inconvenience and ensures that it is doing its best to address concerns such as upgrading of equipment and new projects for expansion or N-1 for La Trinidad-Sablan line,” Batario said.
