PRO-Central Visayas scales up security in Bohol for Asean meetings

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Central Visayas will implement a tight security in Bohol for another round of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) meetings next week.

Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, PRO-Central Visayas director, said they will be fielding around 3,000 personnel.

They will secure the venues for the meeting from November 26 to November 30, which will be attended by estimated 200 senior delegates.

Espino said reports from intelligence units stated that there are direct threats in Bohol.

But he said they have a major event security framework to prevent any incidents. (KAL)
