MORE investments and tourists will be expected to flock in the country after the staging of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nation (Asean) Summit on November 13 to 14 in Metro Manila.
Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) president Ronald Go said with the Asean Summit, not only Southeast Asian countries take interest of the Philippines now.
“We’re looking forward to more investment, more tourists, more development especially to the Philippines with what we have shown. It’s not only the Asean countries that have taken interest but even the United States and other G7 countries have truly been giving notice to the country now,” Go said.
Among the dialogue partners that attended the summit were Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, Chinese premier Li Keqiang, European Council president Donal Tusk, Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, Indian prime minister NarendraModi, New Zealand prime minister JacindaArdern, Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, South Korean president Moon Jae-In, United States president Donald Trump, and United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres.
Go added what he hopes that the previously signed agreements between the Philippines and other countries would progress and not remain as signed agreements on paper.
